Location: Fort Washington State Park, 500 South Bethlehem Pike, Fort Washington, PA

Date: October 16-17, 2017

Course Times: 8:00 am – 5:00 pm both days; lunch is not provided (one-hour break for lunch on your own)

Cost: $100 one-day course (October 16th only); $250 two-day course (October 16-17)

CEUs: International Society of Arboriculture (ISA) Certified Arborists, Utility Specialists, Municipal Specialists and Tree Workers will be eligible to receive CEUs for the two-day course.

One-Day Course Description: 'The Arboricultural High Angle Rescue and Emergency Response Training Course' is designed to explain and demonstrate work positioning and rescue techniques used among arborists and firefighters while responding to emergency situations. This one-day course provides instruction and field demonstration on the following:

• Rescue, readiness, and reality

• Risk assessment, scene management, and first aid

• Self-rescue working at height in canopy

• Scenario identification and injury extent/severity evaluation

• Climber extrication, rescuer ascent, and work positioning

• Common tree rescue scenarios

Hands-On Course: A separate, one-day hands-on course will be offered on October 17th to provide an opportunity to practice techniques learned during the instruction and field demonstration; participation in the one-day training on October 16th is a requirement of attendance. All levels of climbers and aerial rescuers, experienced and non-experienced, looking to increase their technical knowledge and skills as it relates to access, positioning, climbing, and rescue systems are encouraged to attend. This course is appropriate for both arborists and fire fighters, and is limited to 20 participants.
