NOTICE! ISA is seeking
qualified nominees from the General Membership for positions on the ISA
Board…Deadline to submit Nominations is December 14, 2009.
The ISA governance
is restructuring into two distinct bodies beginning at the end of the
March, 2010, ISA Board meeting. One of these bodies will be the new
ISA Board of Director’s composed of 15 members and the other will be the
Council of Component Representatives (CCR) which will be made up of a
representative of each of the ISA chapters and professional affiliations.
The structure of
the future Board will be made up of the President, the President-elect,
and 13 Directors. Of these 13 people, 5 are to be nominated and voted
upon by the CCR and 8 from the ISA membership-at-large. The
transition plan already installed the 5 current ISA Vice Presidents onto
the new Board of Directors leaving 8 positions to fill through an
election process.
The purpose of
this notice is to solicit nominations from the ISA General Membership. If you would like to nominate yourself or someone else
as a candidate for the new ISA Board of Directors, please send the name
to Jerri Moorman at ISA (jmoorman@isa-arbor.com).
The person you nominate must be a current member of ISA.
The 5 current Vice
President’s are NOT eligible for nomination since they automatically move
to the new ISA Board. These individuals are:
Bill Fountain
Frank Gifford
Steve Ketner
Mark Roberts
Dave
Scharfenberger
Also, current
Nominations and Elections Committee members are NOT eligible for
nomination. Those individuals are:
Chip Brown
Kim Coder
Mark Hartley
Mark Hoenigman
Lauren Lanphear
Ron Laurin
Nolan Rundquist
D’Arcy Schenk
The closing date
for Jerri to receive these nominations is 4:30 PM (Central – Chicago
Time) on December 14, 2009.
As a reminder, the
criteria by which nominees will be considered are:
1. Demonstrated positive leadership skills – professionally or
as a volunteer
2. Professional objectivity and the ability to think
strategically
3. Demonstrated interest in a broad range of arboricultural
issues
4. ISA Board or equivalent experience and contribution
5. Demonstrated organizational support (can commit to doing the
job given the time and travel commitments)
6. Demonstrated management skills
