The Penn-Del Chapter of the ISA has been a longtime supporter of the TREE Fund. Likewise, the chapter’s members have benefitted from the research and insight gathered by TREE Fund grant recipients (link tohttp://www.treefund.org/grants/research-grants ) who are often engaged as keynote speakers or presenters during the chapter’s Annual Symposium. In addition, students throughout Pennsylvania and Delaware are eligible to apply for scholarships through the TREE Fund. Timely information about grant and scholarship programs, as well as events, can be found in the bi-monthly bulletin or quarterly report .
Thanks to the generosity of Penn-Del ISA members and various companies in the arboriculture industry, the Penn-Del ISA has always ranked high in the TREE Fund’s annual fundraising “competition”, the Chapter Challenge. After respectably attaining the Gold level in 2010 and 2011, the Platinum level was achieved in 2012 with a total amount raised of $32,521! These funds are primarily generated through donations to the Tour des Trees riders from Pennsylvania and Delaware, as well as the Chapter’s donation of an auction package for the TREE Fund’s annual Raise Your Hand for Research event .
To facilitate communication and help with fundraising, the Penn-Del Chapter appoints a volunteer liaison to the TREE Fund. The current liaison, Kristin Wild, can be reached at KWILD@Asplundh.com or 1-800-248-8733 ext. 4427.
